De la Rosa doubting Sauber tyre advantage |
Pedro de la Rosa is unsure that, as suggested by F1 tyre manufacturer Bridgestone, the Sauber team may have an advantage in terms of overall grip levels this weekend; pre-season analysis conducted by the Japanese company suggests that the cars of de la Rosa and Kamui Kobayashi preserve their tyres better than any other although the Spaniard believes that performances will vary in Bahrain.

Alonso: Championship attack a year-long task |
Fernando Alonso has total confidence in the Ferrari team as he arrives in Bahrain for the first race of the new season. The Spaniard is yet to cross the finish line first since doing so for Renault in Japan two seasons ago but is sure about who his main rivals are and that he is now fully settled into the Ferrari team.

Qatar hoping to host F1 race |
With Bernie Ecclestone having confirmed a Grand Prix on the streets of Italian capital city Rome for 2013, the Formula 1 commercial rights holder has also said that the calendar will be increasing in length to a record 20 races in coming years, with Qatar hoping to add its name to the list.

LG links up with Cosworth |
LG, the official Technology Partner of Formula 1, has increased its commitment to the sport by moving into a partnership with Cosworth. The Northampton-based company returns to F1 this year following a break of three years and in doing so parners the Williams , Lotus, Hispania and Virgin teams.

Virgin Racing Technical Director Nick Wirth is confident that his car's downfalls from winter testing have been corrected as the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix nears ever closer. Nakajima determined to return |
Kazuki Nakajima has vowed not to give up on his Formula 1 chances for the future after being left on the sidelines prior to the start of the upcoming season. The former Williams driver had hoped to compete with Serbian hopefuls Stefan Grand Prix although - despite a failure to enter from US F1 - the Belgrade-based squad was not granted a spot on the grid.

Bridgestone prepares for final F1 season |
Having entered Formula 1 at the start of the 1997 season, Bridgestone will bow out of the sport at the end of the upcoming campaign after announcing that it will no longer continue as the sport's sole tyre supplier, a role it has held since the departure of Michelin at the end of 2006.
