Seat Time Episode 44: Beer and a Bonfire |

Welcome to 2012. We sat down last year for 43 episodes and we have plopped down on the couch for the first episode of the New Year. We were lucky enough to have fellow TORO racer and general all around badass, Bryan Vaughn, on the couch with us. We discussed a bit of what we all did for New Year's Eve, what the year is looking like for Mr. Vaughn and what we all think about the upcoming 2012 Supercross season and beyond. Thanks for tuning in and we hope you all are ready for a great new year. Bryan Vaughn drove in from Pittsburgh, TX to sit down on the couch with us and we really appreciate his dedication. He has been tearing up the Arkansas Hare Scramble Championship Series in the Pro class since 2005 and lately was been fighting for a LACC Championship. Currently Vaughn is in fifth place in the TORO Series, trying to find a way to beat the past 4 TORO Champions. After a disappointing Red Bull New Year No Limits performance, we were all looking for some New Year fun. We think Jordan was the only one who fulfilled this need, but he did so in his grown up clothes. I was hanging out with the kiddos while Vaughn held down the fort in Pittsburgh. Since most people do not know a lot about the Texas racing community, I wanted to ask Bryan Vaughn a few questions to let everyone know more about him. Seat Time Episode 46 : Tribute to Mika Ahola |
|
This week the motorcycle community lost a long time favored champion to a tragic practice injury. Mika Ahola died at the age of 37 from post-operative complications while trying to fix an internal organ injury he sustained just three weeks ago. We tribute this episode of Seat Time to Mika Ahola; He has been a great leader, ambassador and champion within, and outside of our community. Many 2012 seasons began this past weekend. TSCEC started up in Nacogdoches, TX with the Cycleland Enduro. Texas received a lot of rain the week prior, so the typical sandy trails were in great, tacky condition. The exposed roots got a little slick and sent more than a few riders to the ground. Cole Kirkpatrick came away with the overall on his Thunderbird Energetica KTM, Cameron Ishmael rode his new KTM hard for second and Zach Ingram rode his new Husaberg 2 stroke to a well-earned third place. At Glen Helen MX outside of Los Angeles, CA, the WORCS Series kicked off their 2012 Season. Racing on Saturday and Sunday would add points earned for an overall weekend winner. With defending champion, Kurt Caselli, not racing, there was a wide door for some new riders to claim the title. Overall on the weekend gave Taylor Robert the win, Mike Brown second and Kyle Summer third. Robert is looking strong, Brown is still super consistent and Kyle Summers is the new guy who has something to prove. Locally, just north of the DFW area was the Bonita 100.
